For the Year 2000, a special edition of the fountain pen and ballpoint pen models has been commissioned, with numbers limited worldwide, 5000 for fountain pen and 10,000 for ballpoint pens.
Unlike the standard writing instruments, the surface of these two writing instruments are made of stainless steel, and are completed by a Butler finish. Every single one of these writing instruments can be identified by the following laser engraving: "LAMY 2000 Edition".
